BLADE, the “Uber for Choppers”, to launch India ops from Mumbai
Inaugural helicopter flights from Mumbai to Shirdi, Pune

Mumbai’s traffic has gotten so bad, some people will happily buy their way out of it. At least that’s the hope that’s bringing US-based “digitally powered-aviation company” BLADE to India. The app-based helicopter and small-planes aggregator has announced plans to launch services from Mumbai starting March 2019.
“India’s major cities are consistently ranked as the most congested in the world,” said Rob Wiesenthal, CEO of BLADE, in a press release. “By broadening consumers’ access to on-demand aviation, we can start to mitigate these issues today, while building the foundation for Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) services tomorrow.”
